How much time should I get out of a new E6400 Latitude battery?

Just bought a new one (Genuine Dell) and im only getting 3 and 1/2 hours on a full charge.

Does that sound right?

APOLOGIES-

Sctatch the above...the battery meter just updated itself to 5 and 1/2 hours, which sounds much more realistic

Sounds and looks... you might just want to time it... could still be lousy!

Also which battery did you get...?

Also, which GPU do you have? 6 hours is around the best you can squeeze out of a 6 cell battery if you have Intel graphics and 20-25% less with the Nvidia GPU. Also, the newer batteries for the E6410 are compatible and have a bit more capacity.

I have 10 hours and half with my 9-cell with the Nvidia GPU

It is to be noted that my old 9-cell battery was 85Whr, and the new one is 90Whr. I think what happened, is that Dell was out of E6400 batteries, and gave me the E6410 battery instead.
