Also, which GPU do you have? 6 hours is around the best you can squeeze out of a 6 cell battery if you have Intel graphics and 20-25% less with the Nvidia GPU. Also,the newer batteries for the E6410 are compatible and have a bit more capacity.

I have 10 hours and half with my 9-cell with the Nvidia GPU
It is to be noted that my old 9-cell battery was 85Whr, and the new one is 90Whr. I think what happened, is that Dell was out of E6400 batteries, and gave me the E6410 battery instead.
